About Flota Occidental

Flota Occidental started working in 1955 in Quinchia, Risaralda with the popular chivas or ladder buses that mobilized passengers through the different municipalities of Risaralda and Caldas. In its beginnings, it was known as Caldasmar but by including more routes to departments such as Choco, Quindio, Antioquia, Cundinamarca and Valle del Cauca, among other areas of the country, it changed its name definitively to Flota Occidental, a name that is still maintained and with which this bus operator is recognized in the Colombian road transportation industry. It currently covers 13 of the 14 municipalities of Risaralda.


The main office of Flota Occidental is located in Pereira, although it has 36 agencies nationwide, from where they manage to send the different services such as passenger transport, tourism service, cargo, and parcels nationwide. Flota Occidental has a trained staff to constantly improve each of the company's internal processes, as well as a modern and technological automotive park. This has allowed Flota Occidental to receive several Icontec quality awards and certifications, given the high standards they handle for the maintenance of their fleet.

Cancelation Policies

The client can cancel the journey 2 hours before the departure of the bus and the ticket remains as open for a next opportunity. There are no money refunds and in extreme cases please contact Flota Occidental.

Q-1). Can I cancel my ticket in Flota Occidental?
A: Yes. Tickets can be canceled up to 2 hours before the departure of the bus. The tickets will remain open for later use. The client can redeem it when he wants to but must request it before to the company. Flota Occidental doesn’t return the money from the purchase of bus tickets in any of the cases.
Q-2). How much luggage can I carry on my trip?
A: Each passenger is entitled to a piece of luggage that does not exceed 15 kg and must be sent in the trunk. Also, users can have carry-on luggage that may be traveled inside the bus during the trip.
Q-3). Can I travel with my pet?
A: In Flota Occidental it is allowed to travel with pets but they can’t be carried inside the bus. They must travel in the cellar inside a cage of no more than 35 cm high and each animal must wear a diaper during the trip and the owner must have the vaccination card.
Q-4). Can minors travel alone?
A: Yes. Minors between 12 and 17 years old can travel alone if their parents authorize them by filling out the request at Flota Occidental’s ticket offices.

A: Only in the modalities of Gran Emperador Elite and Gran Emperador there is the menu service and snacks on board during their journeys.

A: Yes, you need to print your bus ticket before boarding, remember that all passengers will have to print the ticket that was sent to their email in PDF format. Then, it will be exchanged for a physical ticket at the counter of the bus company.
