Tado is a colombian municipality located in the eastern part of the department of Choco (within the Alto San Juan area), on the left bank of the San Juan River and to the right of the river Mungarra. On the north it borders with the municipalities of Certegui and Bagado, on the south with the municipality of the Iro River, on the wes...t with the municipality of Pan-american Union, and on the east with the department of Risaralda. Tado was founded on March 19th, 1533 by the spaniards Vasco Núñez de Balboa, captain Antonio Mosquera, ensign Pedro de Ayamonte and Nicacio Arboleda. Tado's main economic activities are mining, forestry industry, agriculture and ranching.
