Coomotor Pereira (Ris) Bus

Coomotor is a bus operator with a great presence in the municipality of Huaila and the most important region's cities inside the country. It was founded in the year 1960 by a group of visionary carriers, who associated under a cooperative model to innovate the bus operator field and have a better service than most of the other operators. Capital of the Risaralda Department, was founded in 1863, and its situated at an average 1550 m a.s.l. although some areas are at 1200 m a.s.l.It is one of the most populared cities in the "coffee belt". During the precolumbian times the area was inhabited by the cultures Quimbaya and Pijao, which were known for their craftmanship. It was first known as "Old Carago", but it adopted the name "Pereira" over time, in memory of Doctor Francisco Pereira Martínez, one of the heroes of the Columbian Independency Campaign who took refuge on the area.During the 1950's, during the Colombian Internal Conflict, the city received a lot of refugeed from different part of the countries, which is the reason of the diversity one can witness in the city. Pereira became known as "The loving, the never-sleeping and brown" because it receives and nurtures everyone who visits the city. It's the touristic hub for the coffee belt and also famous for its nightlife, the "Pearl of the Otún", in honor to the river that crosses the city. It's a municipality with great cultural development and social integration, and also, due to its location, Pereira is a gathering point for commerce between the most important colombian cities like Medellín, cali, Bogotá, Manizales and Armenia.

● Otún Quimbaya Flora and Fauna Sanctuary: Due to its scenic beauty, it has become an important ecotourism destination in the coffee region. It is a privileged conservation area due to national conservation sites such as the Los Nevados National Natural Park, and regional ones such as the Ucumarí Regional Natural Park and the Campoalegre Soil Conservation District. 

● Ucumari Regional Natural Park: Is an excellent place to spend a day with family or friends. It is not your typical zoo, but a very well organized Institute that offers excellent information on animals. It has a large number of Colombian animals from various parts of the country (monkeys, bears, snakes, parrots) as well as African animals (lions, elephants, rhinos) in a cool recreated environment. In addition, the park has a food area where you can get delicious sandwiches. 

● Thermal Santa Rosa de Cabal and San Vicente Thermal Reserve: In these thermal centers, you will enjoy the incredible healing and relaxing properties of the thermal waters in a wonderful place to meditate in contact with nature. In these establishments, they have a restaurant and hotel.

● Pereira to Ibague: For the route Pereira to Ibague, Coomotor offers its Navette and Navette G7 services. The bus fares vary from 40000 to 60000 pesos.

● Pereira to Armenia: Coomotor offers daily departures to Armenia, on a short trip that takes approximately 1 hour.
