It was created in 1986 in honor of the Goddess of Chairá, a figure from Caquetean indigenous mythology who is the protagonist of the Huitoto legend that bears the same name. This was developed in the surroundings of the Laguna del Chairá in the municipality of Cartagena del Chaira.
