Villa de Leyva is an interesting destination all year long. However, it is recommended that you plan to match the dates of any of the many festivities celebrated during the year, such as the Festival of Lights in late December, to get the most out of your trip.

With an area of 14.000 m² and being totally covered in stone, it is the biggest plaza in Colombia, and it is one of the main atractions. Access by car is restricted in order to preserve its historical aesthethic. It's right next to the Cabildo and the Church.

Building of the former official beer company of the Spanish Empire. It still uses Spain's Shield. It now functions as a Cultural Center and one can visit what remains of the old factory.
