Located in the Plaza de Bolívar, it was initially the chapel where the first mass of the city was held by the spaniards. It was destroyed by lightning and earthquakes, but was rebuilt and now hosts the Inmaculada de Murillo sculpture.
One of the four panopticons in Latin America, its a special jail designed to grant the wardens complete visibility of the prison. For long it was a symbol of opression but it is now a museum of Human Rights.
