About Frontino

Frontino is a colombian municipality located eastside of the Department of Antioquia. It was founded in 1806, in a small farm area previously occupied by the Arias Guzmán Family. Years later, in 1842, several inhabitants of other municipalities of the Department came to Frontino, which sparked a slow but ...constant growth both in population and in economy. The municipality is named after some strange white marks in the face of many of the animals of the region. Several descendants of the Embera Katios culture still reside within the city. They retain their culture and produce crafts and host cultural events.
