Honda is a colombian city located north of the Department of Tolima. It was founded the 4th of March of 1643, and was named city after the independence of Colombia the 15th of June of 1830. It is located right next to the Magdalena, Guarinó, Quebrada Seca and Guali rivers, and was one of the first river port, which led to an important urban and economic growth.Honda is known as “The City of Bridges” due to the high number of bridges that cross the rivers in the city. Nowadays it is a city dedicated to fishing and farming, and its architectonic historical heritage in a good state of conservation is an attraction to national and international tourists.
