Copetran Aguachica (Ces) Bus

Copetran was founded in the year 1939 when the bus operators "Flota del Once", "Flota Comuneros" and "Transporte Unión Santander" joined and created the "Cooperativa Santandereana de Tránsito LTDA". Three years later it finally adopted the name of Copetran and it was confirmed by around 22 partners. Today, Copetran is conformed by more than 40 families and many of them are already in their 4th generation. Also, Copetran has had 8 logos throughout its history, which are characterized by having the famous "Copetran dog", a male greyhound.

The route from Bucaramanga to Aguachica takes approximately 3 hours, going through the distance of 104 mi (168 km). The terrestrial transportation companies Cotaxi and Expreso Brasilia sell low-cost bus tickets to cover this route, providing diverse schedules for the comfort of the traveler. It is not very clear the origin of the name Aguachica; it's told it comes from the contrast with the Haciendas de Aguagrande, a territory of Anton Garcia de Bonilla close to the river, while other people support the theory that it comes from the name of a cacique who lived on the region. The climate in Aguachica is tropical, with an average temperature of 82.4 °F (28 °C), and there are abundant rains that are not so pronounced at the begining and end of the year.

Aguachica has a warm tropical climate with high temperatures throughout the year, where average daily highs generally range from about 30 °C to 34 °C and lows rarely fall below 20 °C. The city experiences distinct wet and dry periods, with rainfall more abundant in months like May and October and drier conditions typically in months such as January and February. This climate pattern reflects Aguachica’s location in a tropical region of Colombia with significant seasonal variation in precipitation.

● El Agüil Forest

This green area boasts great biodiversity and is located north of the city. Numerous natural springs emerge here, feeding the El Pital stream, which provides water for some of the municipality's residents.

● Potosí Park

This forest, located within the urban area, covers approximately one hectare. Natural springs feed the El Cristo stream, which runs through the city from one end to the other.
