Municipality of Cauca Valley department, Tulua is the fourth city in population of this famous valley. It's also known as the Heart of the Valley, due to its geographic location and Villa of Céspedes, in honor of a hero, during the Independence of Colombia, Juan María Céspedes. There are several tourist sites to see in Tuluá, mainly for their nature. The Parque Nacional Natural Las Hermosas has natural lagoons, paramos, canyons and it's the place where many rivers are born; you can also observe the flora (oaks) and fauna (spectacled bear) typical of the region. Tulua celebrates its most important festival in May-June, Tulua Fair, where you can find stockbreeder exhibitions, handicrafts, concerts and a very traditional cavalcade. Other celebrations that deserve to be mentioned are: Festival Internacional de Contadores de Cuentos y Leyendas (for stories tellers) and the Festival del Corazon Dulce (in June), Festival del Mate y el Guarapo (May) and the Festival de Cometas (Kite's festival) in august, among others.
